The Sales Funnel For Effective Online Marketing

Apr 26

The sales funnel has been a fundamental part of business and marketing for many years. It appears that the subject of funnels in online-based businesses is becoming more and more common.

People want to learn more about the concept of marketing and how it can be used in their online business marketing efforts. Continue reading if you want to learn more on the sales funnel for Internet marketing success.

What is the Sales Funnel?

A marketing funnel isn't an actual funnel. The reason for using the term "funnel" to describe this concept of marketing is to aid in visualizing and explaining the sales process from beginning to the conclusion. Because it uses a wide entry way for potential customers "Unqualified Prospects" at the top and a much narrower opening for converted sales in the middle, the term funnel is an accurate comparison.

At the top or entrance to the funnel are those who we may consider as "unqualified prospects"; these are folks who could need your services or products, but you have never contacted them before. After a series of phone calls, sales and promotions, you have reached people who have bought your products or services.

Another reason the concept of a lead generation funnel works is because it makes it possible to track your prospects' actions throughout the sales process. By using the sales funnel to determine the number of qualified prospects at every stage, you can predict how many potential customers will become actual customers.

A sales funnel will help you see where your sales process is failing or successful or if your marketing campaign isn't attracting enough customers. This will help you to determine where to focus your efforts to help reach your goals in marketing. It's used to measure and control the process of selling of clients.

The Sales Funnel Top Front or End

The most important section of your sales funnel will require the most constant testing and be the most engaged. There is no limit of front-end ideas. Your imagination and resources are the only limitations.

The front-end objective is to attract new customers and convert them to buyers.

When a prospect decides to sign up or purchases the product or service you provide, they are "qualified". This is the stage in the sales funnel where the potential client or "Unqualified prospect" is a qualified lead due to the actions they've taken that show that they are sufficiently interested to buy your product.

In order to make your front-end efficient, you need to drive targeted traffic towards your blog, website, squeeze page, or blog. PPC advertisements, articles for marketing PPC advertising, social media such as Google+, Twitter and Facebook, YouTube, banners and blogs, forum posting and content marketing are all great resources.

There are many methods to "qualify","qualify" the "Unqualified Prospect". One of the most effective is the squeeze page. You can provide something of value that is connected to your product/service that people are able to get for no cost or at a discounted price in exchange for their email. The products offered include newsletters as well video, eBooks, email courses, and other related reports.

It is clear that the front-end is where people are attracted to your sales funnel. What about the back-end of your sales funnel?

The End of the Funnel, or The Back-End

The back-end (or the bottom) of the sales channel is where the bulk of sales and profits take place. It typically contains your highest priced products. They are usually pertinent to the same market, but in different formats like video or audio, live interaction, or private consultation.

The primary distinction between the front-end service and the back end is the kind of service or cost of the customer.

Even though it is the case that a small percentage of people will be able to enter your front-end, only 1-2% will actually be able to make it into your back-end. This is fine, given the fact that this particular small percentage will invest a much larger amount of money.

While front-end services and products may be less expensive than $100 but back-end products and services are usually priced at the range of hundreds to thousands. This means that the lowest end of the sales channel which is also known as the back-end, is the most important source of income.

As I mentioned in the past the sales funnel is as flexible as your creativity and resources allow.
