How to Clean, Store and Reuse False Lashes

Mar 10

After you remove your false lashes, don't toss them. Keep the glue-laden, clumpy false lashes you wore throughout the day.

Hear us out, lashes don't come cheap! A single set of lashes can be expensive if you're a regular buyer.

With proper care, you can still wear synthetic lashes that you would normally throw away after the day ends. They are strong enough to last for 25 applications.

After speaking with Desire Ayers, a Beautylish Creative Production Associate who wears false eyelashes daily, we developed cleaning and storage tips. These are our top tips to ensure that your strips stay clean and maximize the use of each pair.

Drugstore Cleaning and Storage Guide

Step 1: Use a small-sized, sterile tweezer to clean the glue band. Although the prongs of smaller diameters can lift glue more precisely, they will not be able to remove false lashes.

2nd step: Apply an oil-free makeup remover to a cotton swab to remove any mascara, dirt, or glue.

Tip: Curl your natural and false eyelashes before you apply false lashes. This will prevent them from separating. Use mascara to seal mascara to reduce clumpiness

Step 3 Let your eyelashes soak in warm water for 5-10 mins

Step 4: Dry your eyelashes overnight with a microfiber towel. Step 4: Brush your lashes in the morning with a brush.

High-End Storage and Cleaning Guide:

Step 1: Use a small-sized, sterile tweezer to clean the glue band. Although the prongs of smaller diameters can lift glue more precisely, they will not be able to remove false lashes.

Step 2: Apply an oil-free mascara remover with a cotton swab to any mascara-covered lashes. Do not submerge in water or makeup remover.

High-end lashes should not be treated with mascara. Mascara's oils or waxes can cause lash loss by breaking the bond between the lash band and the hairs.

Step 3: Keep your lashes in the original case. You can loosen the corners and lift the lash band with a pair of tweezers.
