Everyone should have a first aid kit in their homes, but did you know that essential oils can be part of it? Essential oils are natural and easy to use. They promote healing and wellness while giving the user a sense of calm.

1. Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender essential oil is known as the "Swiss Army knife" of essential oils. It can be used to heal wounds, reduce scarring, and disinfect burns. It is used to treat inflammation caused by sunburns, bug bites, and bee stings.

Apply a drop of lavender directly onto a blister. Ensure no further rubbing or friction occurs on the blister.

2. Helichrysum Essential Oil

Helichrysum is another essential oil that you should have because of its analgesic properties. It is often used to treat pain and swelling. It has been used to stop bleeding within seconds and reduced bruising. It is best when applied it immediately after injured. Bring first aid fast!

3. Peppermint Essential Oil

Peppermint aids in healthy digestion and soothes nausea. It also helps to relieve muscle aches, pains, cramps, headaches and fever. Peppermint oil, along with rosemary and eucalyptus are my favorite oils for migraine relief. Mix peppermint and lemon with a carrier oil and appliy to the back of neck and bottom of feet to cool the body.

Tea Tree oil has been used for centuries because of its incredible anti-fungal, antibacterial, antiviral and anti-viral qualities. Tea Tree oil is a natural remedy for skin irritations. It also supports healthy immunity. It helps to relieve itching as well.

5. Frankincense Essential Oil

Frankincense is an excellent oil to add to blends as it can enhance the properties of essential oils. It can also be used to treat skin problems. This oil is mixed with my moisturizer and I apply it to my skin every night. It can also be used for other skin problems. Frankincense is something I will never be without.

6. Citronella Essential Oil

Citronella Is a well-known insecticide, insect repellent, but can also be used to analgesics, disinfectants, and astringents. It has a lemony smell that I love!

7. Lemon Essential Oil

Lemon is not only for cleaning, but it can also be used as an essential oil in your first aid kit. Lemon essential oil can be used to reduce inflammation and respiratory problems associated with joint and muscle pain.

Lemongrass, rosemary, oregano and thyme are all common essential oils that can be used for first aid as well. Clove essential oil is great for toothaches too!
